We want to tell all those who make fun of us that he is really an actor who is try to portray us as a drunk fighting people. We are not like this at all.

We are a good cultured hard worker people. Kazakh people work long and hard and take pride in our nation.

Borat has made us look a lot embarrassed and many towns and villagers have become angry.

We ask all western peoples to come and see our country and see the advancement of our society. We have a good reputation in the region and don't need to be made look like a country who has horse and cart on the highway instead of truck and car (maybe you would see that only in Uzbekstan).

Do not make bad the good name of our country!!!!

This is spoof web page, for sure.
Listen, I think Borat sucks. Why? Because western world knows almost nothing about the eastern world, and what Borat does, is misinformation and dehumanizing of whole culture. For starters--I lived in Kazakhstan for a little while, so I know what it is really like. Great country(huge, seventh or sixth largest in the world), wonderful people. I worked there for 4 years. I loved it. About the pictures-- the cheerleader chick, is actually a girl in a traditional costume, dressed up probably for a festival of some kind. She is not a cheerleader of any kind FOR SURE. People don\'t dress like that every day and it is a fact. People there are very kind, smart(most have masters degrees), and generous. Family values are a lot higher, than here, in US.
What makes me angry is the fact that a joke, along with lack of knowledge about that country turned Cohen into a dangerous man-- thats how world wars are started. One country is poor, uneducated with beast like creatures living in it... they need enlightnment, the west will go and bring it to them.... HORRID. Thats what I think. I think Borat is Horrid.

Kazakhstan’s Math Whizzes Victorious in Greece

A team of students from Kazakhstan returned home victorious from the International Mathematics Olympics in Greece with two golds as proof of their prowess.

Andrei Kim, a 9th grader from Taldykorgan won a gold medal, becoming the youngest gold medal winner for Kazakhstan ever. The other gold went to Kuat Esenov, an 11th grader from Pavlodar.

The teenager from Pavlodar will soon be listed in the Guinness book of records as the holder of the most gold medals from the international math Olympics.

Students from 186 countries competed.

I just happened to come across this website. I was laughing at the pictures and the captions that were on the page. I was convinced that this was in fact an actual website that was made from the Kazakistainian government. Reading your comments got me to laugh even harder. I think Borat is a hilarious character with all honesty. I'm Afghani. The first time I watched Ali G I thought it was pretty retarted. However, when Borat came on I was totally glued to the TV. Take it easy guys! Borat is cool and Sacha Baron Cohen is an amazing comedian. His show is hilarious but you are being nationalistic and blind to see it. Just because you personally do not know any Kazakh writer it does not mean there aren't any. The most famous Kazakh writer is Abay Kunanbayev. He was actually not only writer but a thinker I should say. Kazakhs were nomads so it was impossible for them to get educated in the same way as we are used to in settled nations. Ordinary Kazakh people as shown here are very hospitable and nice. Unfortunately I met many Kazakhs who think that they are as cool and civilised as westerners just because they buy fifteen years old Audi. It takes them very long to achevie it. They take bribes and try to rip off tourists and even their own people. Throw such Kazakhs down the well but not these ordinary ones to whom stupid people just laugh. Borat is hilarious and the actions of Kazakh IT heads and their civil servants just show that Kazakhstan first needs to adopt democracy and freedom of speech otherwise the rest of the world will just laugh at them.

My mother lived in Kazakhstan in the 1930's when many Ukrainians were sent there by the Stalinist regime. Kazakh people were very nice to my family and sacrificed much to ensure our families survival despite the communists who were looking for reasons to kill my grandfather.
